At WazirX, we value user control and transparency. The Close My Account feature allows you to permanently close your account directly from the app, putting the decision fully in your hands.
Before Closing Your Account
Please ensure the following:
Withdraw all INR and crypto balances
No open spot orders
No pending withdrawals
Claim, decline, or cancel any unclaimed gifts
Download your Trade Report, TDS Certificate, and GST Invoices
How to Close Your Account
Open Account Settings in the WazirX app
Go to Account Security → Close My Account
Submit your request and feedback
Complete OTP verification
You’ll receive an email update on your request within 48 hours.
What Happens After You Submit the Request
Your account is frozen
You can still log in to view markets only
You’ll be notified once the request is approved or rejected
Impact of Account Closure
Once approved:
Account access and trading are disabled
Deposits & withdrawals are not allowed
(Depositing funds into a closed account may lead to loss; recovery is possible only for ≥ $100 with applicable fees)Referral rewards, gift cards, coupons, API keys, airdrops, and subaccounts are disabled
Reports (Trade, TDS, GST) can no longer be downloaded
Marketing communications stop unless explicitly subscribed
You can create a new account with the same KYC and email after 90 days
Important Notes
All active sessions and API keys are logged out/disabled upon approval
Account data is retained as per legal requirements
Download all required reports before closing your account
