If you want to stop using your WazirX account, you can either deactivate your account temporarily or close your account permanently.

The process you need to follow depends on whether you are a non-creditor, an RT Token holder, or a creditor with 34% INR locked.

Important: If you want to use your WazirX account again in the future, you can contact WazirX Support to request account reactivation, where applicable.

Which option should I choose?

Choose or click the option that applies to your account:

Your account status	What you need to do
You want to temporarily stop using your account	Deactivate Account
You are not a creditor, do not hold RT Tokens, and have no locked balance	Close Account – Non-Creditor
You are a creditor and hold RT Tokens	Close Account – RT Token Holder
You are a creditor with 34% INR locked	Close Account – 34% INR Locked

You can click either the account status or the recommended action to jump directly to the relevant section.

1. Deactivate Your Account

Who is this for?

Choose this option if you want to temporarily deactivate your WazirX account.

Steps

Step	Action
1	Open the WazirX app and go to Settings → Security.
2	Select Close Account.
3	Select Deactivate Account.
4	Complete the 2FA verification.
5	Enter and verify the Email OTP.
6	Your account will be successfully deactivated.

What happens next?

Once the required verification is completed, your account will be deactivated. If you want to use your account again in the future, contact WazirX Support for assistance with reactivation.

2. Close Your Account – Non-Creditor

Who is this for?

This option is for users who:

Do not hold RT Tokens.
Do not have any locked balance.

Steps

Step	Action
1	Open the WazirX app and go to Settings → Security.
2	Select Close Account.
3	Review the account closure information displayed on the screen.
4	Confirm your account closure request.
5	Complete the 2FA verification.
6	Enter and verify the Email OTP.
7	Your account closure request will be submitted successfully.

What happens next?

Once the request is submitted successfully, your account closure process will be initiated.

3. Close Your Account – Creditor / RT Token Holder

Who is this for?

This option is for creditors who hold RT Tokens.

Steps

Step	Action
1	Open the WazirX app and go to Settings → Security.
2	Select Close Account.
3	Review the information displayed on the screen.
4	Read and acknowledge the applicable terms and conditions.
5	Proceed with the document signing process.
6	Complete the 2FA verification.
7	Enter and verify the Email OTP.
8	Your account closure request will be submitted successfully.

What happens next?

After the required documents are signed and the verification steps are completed, your account closure request will be submitted.

4. Close Your Account – Creditor with 34% INR Locked

Who is this for?

This option is for creditors who have a 34% INR locked balance.

Steps

Step	Action
1	Open the WazirX app and go to Settings → Security.
2	Select Close Account.
3	Review the information displayed regarding your locked INR balance.
4	Read and acknowledge the applicable terms and conditions.
5	Proceed with the document signing process.
6	Complete the 2FA verification.
7	Enter and verify the Email OTP.
8	Your account closure request will be submitted successfully.
